AKVG HOME MATCH v DEVON (DMVGA) 2026

​

AKVG under the leadership of Captain Carlo Nuvoletta entertained Devon Men’s Veteran Golfing Association (DMVGA) at The Weald of Kent GC and Westerham GC 0n the 1st and 2nd July respectively, for the second double header of this event since Cornwall puled out of playing due to insufficient members. This is a traditional event that has been played every year since 1999, with AKVG being at home in even years and touring in odd years.

This year’s event was very successful with the teams playing two of the nicest Kentish golf courses in a very friendly environment and excellent weather conditions.

The Trophy this year was deservedly won by the Devon Team to end a four-year winning run by the AKVG Team.

The overall result of the double header was 10-6 win for Devon, which was largely as a result of Devon winning The Weald of Kent game 6-2. AKVG shared the honours at Westerham with a 4-4 draw.

Despite our loss both teams played very well and enjoyed the two days of competition and camaraderie very much.

We are looking forward to the 27th year of this competition, which will be played in Devon and hopefully the AKVG team will succeed in regaining the Trophy.
